In the end of August I was indroduced by Olli and Tero to Agricola. I was in a point of not enjoying boardgames anymore. I was getting bored with the whole idea of boardgaming, desperately looking for another hobby for Tapani :)
But then Olli and Tero came to our place with this really nice game. The first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful graphic design and the cute-looking animal pieces. This made a big part of my decision to again give boardgaming a try.
The theme is very well conducted in Agricola. It is not a very heavy game in which you have to think for hours for your next move. Even though all players have their own boards and build their own game, the fact that the resources are limited give the nice taste of player interaction.
I like games in which we build our own things, and we are not completely dependent on other people's moves. In Agricola, if we are able to follow other player's game, we can easily plan our next move. One thing I think is importat to get ahead from other players, is to try to take the starting position on the next round. Of course taking the starting player action is not the most important one, but in case one particular action is always taken by the other players, and I really want to make sure to take that action, then the starting player option play a big role.
So as you can imagine, (as for now) I did not give up to boardgaming...
...specially when we have the opportunity to see our friends with stupid mustaches!
